Girls/Boys Night-outs - How do you cope with them?

What comes to your mind when your partner goes for a night-out with a bunch of friends of the same gender?  Are you comfortable that your partner's out there in the open and is probably intoxicated with booze?

There are nights that you just glance at the time every second the clock ticks, waiting for the knob to turn so you could finally breathe easily knowing that your special someone is home safe.
Waiting is a very difficult job and often times during this period things begin to cram inside your head.  Things like doubt, doubt can easily cloud our perception of things and will cause us to become overly worried and uneasy.  Hypothetical situations begin to pop-up inside your world of imagination like an internet virus that you can't just delete no matter what you do.  You begin to think of the million possibilities that could happen in that one night.  "If someone tries to hit on her/him what would she/he do?", "If she/he gets really drunk will she flirt with other guys/girls?", " It's a dangerous world out there, what if someone tries to hurt her?", "What if he gets in a bar fight and end up being shot or stabbed or put to jail?"... but didn't you ever stop to think that maybe she's thinking of you too that she misses you and she can't wait to come home to your arms again?

We can't blame anybody because such incidence is normal, we just have to learn to cope with these situations.  It could really be a pain to deal with sometimes and I can relate to that. There are things that we need to go through even though we don't really want to, like when doctors stick big needles in our butt cheek, or flushing your gold fish down the toilet.  We just have to accept things the way they are and before you know it things begin to clear up and you get a better perception of things.

Build a relationship based on mutual trust and understanding.  Trust that you are the only one your partner loves, and understand that there are also things that individuals need to do on their own.  Giving them time to work on their own doesn't necessarily mean you abandon them, always give moral support and try to work as a team when the situation requires you to.

Tips on how to cope:

  • You can try to keep yourself busy with something you really like doing like playing video games or watching movies or listening to music.
  • Reassure yourself that he/she won't do anything stupid because you both trust each other and that you won't do things that would compromise your relationship.
  • Go on a night-out too.. ^^ but be sure that you won't be doing things that would make your partner unhappy. Never forget the rule of Karma.
  • Call your partner if you want reassurance coming from him/her.
  • Trust your partner.
